Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 23, 2026

This policy explains what personal data SFX Engine (“we”, “us”) collects when you use sfxengine.com, our apps, our API and our MCP server (together, the “Service”), why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. Questions go to support@sfxengine.com.

1. What we collect

1.1. Account information

Your email address, a password (stored only as a hash) or your Google account’s name, email and profile picture if you sign in with Google, and the organization and team members on your account.

1.2. Content you create

The prompts you write, audio you upload, the sounds and music you generate, your projects, ratings, and your answers to optional welcome and onboarding questions.

1.3. Billing information

Payments are handled by Stripe. We store your Stripe customer ID, plan and subscription status, and credit balance. We never see or store your full card number.

1.4. API and MCP use

API keys (stored only as a hash), a log of each generation request (endpoint, request body, response, and request headers without credentials), and the AI apps you connect through our MCP server (app name and the access you granted).

1.5. Usage and device information

Pages you visit, features you use, generation and download events, IP address, browser and device type, and referring site. We use this to run, secure and improve the Service.

1.6. Support and email

Messages you send us through the support chat or by email, and whether you opened or unsubscribed from our emails.

2. How we use it

Where the GDPR or similar laws apply, we rely on performing our contract with you, our legitimate interests (security, product improvement, and marketing our own service), your consent where it is required, and our legal obligations.

3. Public content

Sounds you generate in the app are public by default and can appear in our public sound library, together with their prompt. You can mark a sound private when you generate it. Sounds generated through the MCP server are private, and so are API sounds unless the request asks for them to be public.

4. Who we share it with

We don’t sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers that process it on our behalf, as needed to run the Service:

We may also disclose data when required by law, to protect our rights or users’ safety, or as part of a merger or acquisition, in which case this policy will continue to apply to your data.

5. Cookies

We use cookies that are needed to keep you signed in, plus analytics (PostHog) and advertising measurement (Google Ads) cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser; the Service may not work properly without the sign-in cookies.

6. How long we keep it

We keep your data while your account is open. When you delete your account in your settings, we delete your user record and, if you were its only member, your organization and its content, and cancel your subscription. We keep a minimal record of the deletion (email, account and billing IDs) to handle support and billing questions, billing records for as long as tax and accounting laws require, and logs and backups for a limited period.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to withdraw consent. Email support@sfxengine.com from the address on your account and we’ll respond within 30 days. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

8. International transfers

Our service providers process data in the United States and other countries. Where required, transfers are covered by safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

9. Security

Data is encrypted in transit, and passwords and API keys are stored only as hashes. No system is perfectly secure, so please keep your password and API keys private.

10. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we’ll delete it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. We’ll post the new version on this page with a new “Last updated” date, and tell you by email about significant changes.

12. Contact us
